What is a Noble Rogue?
At Noble Rogue Publishing, we promote writers who teach what is honorable instead of what is beneficial. We seek stories and content that challenge others to live truthful, virtuous, and faithful lives. In a word, we seek nobility. The way of nobility is often unpopular. Regardless, we sail into the wind, against the current. We roguishly defy the way of speed and ease, stubbornly submitting ourselves to the arduous journey of finding and communicating the true forms.
OUR SYMBOL
Why a helmet with three swords?
The three swords represent the core tenants of a Noble Rogue. The right sword represents Veritas (Truth). The left sword represents Virtus (Virtue). The final sword, hidden behind the helm, represents Fidem (Faith). Fidem is masked since the role of Faith in our works is often subtle and masked behind layers of symbolism and allegory.
The three swords angle downward in a defensive parry, representing a Noble Rogue's intent on using Veritas, Virtus, and Fidem in defense against the lies and schemes of chaos.
The helmet symbolizes a Noble Rogue's aim to fortify the mind against deceit and ignorance. Furthermore, inspired by Greco-Roman armor, it reminds us that art should be informed by history.
